Körper, Flächen, Schnitte: Bildlexikon für Gestalter (Bodies, Planes, Lateral Cuts: Graphical Encyclopaedia for Designer)
This encyclopaedia for design contains more than 1,200 terms. It catalogues forms, planes, and geometrical shapes and their nature and topographical characteristics.
Its bipartite composition enables bidirectional research of the content: textual via the alphabetical subject index and graphical with the visual aspects in the picture index.
The sophisticated design of this specialised book contributes to clearification of the terminology. This stabilizes the comprehension in the
intra- and interdisciplinary communication of the relatively new field of design study.
It meticulously consolidates existing terminology of formal aspects and the description of position and orientation and clearly illustrates
those with multiple bicolour graphics.
To create this graphics classical linocut technics were combined with new digitial technics to visualise the destinct features
of the surface structure, the spatial depth, and the aesthetic merits.
The result is a well-founded, comprehensive, and affectionately designed work of reference for new and experienced designers
with interest on the scientific context and for interested people of adjacent scientific discplines.
